Located just to the north of our State’s capital city of Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee Parish was founded in 1807 and is named after the French term meaning “the place of the cut-off.” Rich with Creole French architecture, with 18th and 19th-century antebellum homes lining the communities, Pointe Coupee Parish is home to over 22,000 citizens and the parish seat is located in Point Coupee.
