West Carroll Parish

Located in the northeast region of Louisiana, sharing a border with Arkansas to the north, West Carroll Parish was founded in 1877 and, like its neighbor East Carroll Parish, is named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton who was the only Roman Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence. The parish has a population of over 11,000 residents and the parish seat is located in Oak Grove. The parish is home to the historic Poverty Point National Monument, which is the largest Native American Indian earthworks site in the entire country. West Carroll Parish shares its borders with East Carroll, Morehouse, and Richland parishes, and Chicot County, Arkansas to the north.

Car crashes can simply be unavoidable occurrences and can too often lead to catastrophic or even deadly injuries. Almost 68,000 people were injured in the state of Louisiana in 2013 as a result of motor vehicle accidents, and an additional 668 lives were claimed. Car accidents are oftentimes avoidable however, and they can sometimes be caused through a driver’s fault or negligence, such as inattentive driving or driving under the influence. A skilled personal injury attorney can assess any motor vehicle accident and confidently determine liability in order to figure out who is responsible for the damages caused by the crash.
