Eunice

Located in both Acadia Parish and St. Landry Parish, the city of Eunice is home to over 10,000 residents and was incorporated in 1895. Eunice was founded by former St. Landry Parish sheriff C.C. Duson, who, along with his brother W.W. Duson, also founded the city of Crowley. Duson named the city after his second wife, Eunice Duson. Known as “Louisiana’s Prairie Cajun Capital,” Eunice celebrates their rich Cajun heritage in a variety of ways, such as the weekly “jam sessions” held at the Savoy Music Center every Saturday, where local and traveling musicians alike gather to play Cajun music together.
